Jodi B. Standring
Trustee, Educator/Mentor, Minister, Herbalist
As a Berkshire County native, Jodi has a deep love for the natural world and native plants surrounding us in this area. She started her career in education in 2004 working with traumatized youth in both residential and day program settings. Trained in both experiential education and herbalism, Jodi brings a diverse lens to Grow WILD, incorporating emotional recognition and regulation along with love of learning through plants and nature. Jodi began working at a Montessori School in 2012 where she was a lead guide in a classroom with a multi-age range of children. At that school she fell into a number of roles, including director of their summer program, and became an Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) certified Montessori Guide.
Kali L. Tomasi, M.Ed.
Trustee, Educator/Mentor, Minister, Herbalist
Kali grew up gamboling in the fields and woods behind her house in rural New York. It was in the riverbeds and trees, and along the forest floor that she felt truly home, connected and full of wonder. Having an early passion for how the mind works and what makes people feel connected, she graduated from SUNY ALBANY in 2002 with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Religion. After college, she began working at local residential programs and a local therapeutic day school. After a short time, she realized that being with kids was something that she was not only “good at” but it also gave her tremendous purpose. After eight years working with youth who experienced social/emotional, behavioral, and academic challenges, she would spend seven years as a Middle School Special Education Teacher in the public school system. Desiring to spend more time with her children and the earth, and following her passion of connecting the community with nature, she co-opened Grow WILD. She holds current MA licensure in Moderate Disabilities (K-8 and 5-12) and as a Reading Specialist (all levels). She is a student of Reiki, Healing Touch, and a lover of the healing and expressive arts.
